http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180549755040&ssPageName=STRK:MESCX:IT#ht_7481wt_1057 Ebay Item No: 180549755040 I have owned this Mars Red Mk1 Golf GTI since December 2008 I brought it as a 1.6 which it is still registered as, and brought a Mk3 Golf ABF 5 door with 138k on the clock. With both cars complete and in my possession, i gave the cars to a mechanic to take both engines out and put the 2.0 16v in the Mk1. The whole car has been re-wired with the loom from a Cabby and fusebox from Mk2 GTI 16v (Much better and more reliable) The car was MOTed with the 2.0 16v Engine. History on engine: I have loads of history which came with the Mk3 Golf i brought to use the engine for this conversion. MOT's 17 March 1997/98 - 42,981 24 Feb 1998/99 - 44,980 1 Feb 1999/00 - 54,104 17 Nov 1999/00 - 65,671 27 Oct 2000/01 - 76,826 26 Oct 2001/02 - 89,145 30 Oct 2002/03 - 103,360 1 Aug 2003/04 - 112,582 3 Feb 2005/06 - 127,058 23 Nov 2006/07 - 137,374 12 Feb 2010/11 - 138,853 In Aug 2007 at around 137,000 miles, the engine underwent a rebuild. This consisted of £180 on parts which include Head gasket set, Cylinder bolts, Inlet manifold gasket, Rocker cover gasket and a full service. Good Bits: Everything brought brand new has less than 500 miles on them 82k on the chassis (No proof) and 139k on the engine, Brand new TA Technix 4-2-1 manifold wrapped, Brand New Stainless Steel 2.25" Exhaust System with 2 boxes a 2.5" straight cut tail pipe (Looks like standard) Brand New AVO Coilovers with receipt 280mm Brake set up with Mk2 GTI Brake Servo - New G60 Discs, ABF Callipers and Green Stuff Pads, Brand New Braided Fuel Lines from Tank to Injector Rail, RS8 Alloys with Tyres and VW Centre Caps, Storm Single Wiper Kit, Brand New Powerflex Bushes front to back (Engine mounts, Wish Bones, Suspension), Brand New Roller Barring Top mounts. Brand New Goodrich Braided Brake Lines Front & Rear, Brand New Fuel Tank and Neck. Brand New Aluminium Rad with Slim Fan Brand New Rear Stub Axle & Wheel Bearing Brand New Accelerator & Clutch Cables Brand New Fuel Pump Arosed Adjustable Gear Linkages, Brand New Deep Chin Duck Spoiler, ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bad Bits: Tiny 5p hole on the side of the wall where the rear tyre sits. Small ripple where dent has been pushed out on drivers wing. Doors have locks and key but there are small parts missing in the door so can only be locked from inside. Small patches of paint has peeled only on the passenger wing. The car could do with being set up on a rolling road to have it running to it best. Is a fantastic car to drive. Uses almost no petrol and because of the power to weight ratio, any gear at ant speed and it will go! It is quite a clean Mk1 Golf. A fair example. The rear arches have been professionally repaired and the rear tow eye has also been welded at some stage. It also benefited from a full respray in 2008 but seen as the car has rarely been used doesnt look show room finished any more. Cash on collection from Southgate, London £2250 I would love to keep this Mk1 Golf but a new car forces sale which i am really really really sad to do. Any questions please call or text 07071 697 466. |
