As it has been standing so long all the oil will be in the sump so if you undo sump and let it drain out under its own steam you would get more out than if you start engine get it hot then undo sump as the oil would be all over the inside of the engine and you still would have to let it drain for a while to get it all out, do not forget to change oil filter this should have some oil left in it too. See I agree with you Peter, but no else seems to agree. They all say run it and get the oil hot but I really don't see how this would get more oil out than when the car has been sitting all week ? Thanks for your input matey

i personally get it hot then drain then flush then leave to drain for a couple of hours then pour some clean oil thru let that drain then put fresh in but what do i know im a whipper snapper lol
the other good option is drain old put diesel oil in for a day as its a blinding engine cleaner and drain that then flush then top up

See normally I would get it hot, but bearing in mind its been in there 15k miles or so, plus the cambelt needs changing I am looking to run it as little as possible really. I have plenty of time to let it drain so may just do it cold and see how it goes, I would like to run hot, drain, add new oil, drain and then some proper oil but really cant be bothered

Change of plan, just went outside to get it sorted. Oil filter is a mother f to get to/off, cant get the oil catch thing under properly so will get oil everywhere and its too fooking cold so bollox to it. Going in Monday to have the Cambelt done so will get em to service it then too and stamp the book. Oh the joys of car ownership again eh

Still have the damn oil, filter, sump plug and some engine cleaner. Bloody Euro car parts want 20% handling charge to take em back even if they give me a damn credit note, piss takers
